Kevin Shafer has served as the Executive Director of the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) since 2002. Kevin is responsible for the overall management, administration, leadership and direction for MMSD and represents MMSD to its customers, bond rating agencies, and the public. He holds a bachelor’s degree in science and civil engineering with a specialty in water resources from the University of Illinois and a master’s in science and civil engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington. He is a past president of the National Association of Clean Water Agencies, is a past Co-Chair of the Water Research Foundation and is a past member of the EPA’s Local Government Advisory Committee. He currently serves on the US Water Alliance Board of Directors.
