About

WaterNow fills a critical niche – providing capacity and connectivity to local leaders building innovative, climate resilient, and affordable water solutions for their communities.

story & mission

Water infrastructure serves 3 critical functions for our communities:

  • Providing clean, safe and reliable water supply
  • Treating and disposing of wastewater
  • Capturing and managing stormwater

Conventional water infrastructure – reservoirs, pipes, treatment facilities, tunnels – does a good job of providing those functions and we have a lot of it.
But these “gray” systems are aging and are not always the only or most resilient or affordable strategies in the face of climate change.
Distributed water infrastructure has enormous, untapped potential to expand nature-based and other One Water strategies that provide the same functions as conventional systems, often with less cost, enhanced climate resilience, and multiple community benefits.

  • Our purpose

We’re building a climate resilient water future

  • Our vision

It’s our goal to make green, nature-based and distributed water infrastructure the norm

  • Our mission

We work with local water leaders to champion climate resilient water strategies so that communities and the environment can thrive

One Water

One Water is a transformative approach to water management holding that all water – drinking water, wastewater and stormwater – has value and is best managed as part of a unified and integrated system to meet community and ecosystem needs.

It represents a paradigm shift from siloed systems that treat water as waste to be disposed rather than used for community and ecosystem benefits.
