WaterNow Impact Award Nomination
WaterNow is committed to elevating and celebrating local leaders who do the hard work of advancing and accelerating innovative, sustainable water solutions in their community. We know that leaders exist at every level within cities, towns, utilities, and water resource agencies. Thanks to generous support from Spring Point Partners, this year we are thrilled to announce that we are expanding our award program to recognize and elevate Emerging Leaders.
Impact Award: Recognizing governing board members of a public water utility – whether elected or appointed, special district or city or county.
The Impact Award honors public water agency decision makers for leadership in catalyzing climate resilient, environmentally sustainable, innovative water solutions in their communities. The primary criterion for an Impact Award is evidence of leadership in adoption of solutions with meaningful impact at the community or regional level. These solutions could include, but are not limited to:
- enactment of ordinances;
- engagement on policy matters at the state, local or federal levels; or
- initiation of a sustainable water project or strategic initiative
Nominations will also be evaluated based on the extent to which they advance social and racial equity – by helping to make water more affordable, accessible and safer, or provide other critical benefits for underserved communities.
Emerging Leader Award: Recognizing mid-level water utility professionals poised to take on leadership positions in the coming years.
The Emerging Leader Award is a new category for 2021, dedicated to celebrating and advancing non-traditional professionals in the utility space. These individuals have demonstrated promise and creativity in advancing meaningful cultural change in the areas of sustainability, equity, or community engagement.
Winners in this category will be awarded a $1,500 cash prize to support their leadership training and professional development.
The call for nominations closes at 11:59 pm PT on Friday, February 26. You are welcome to submit nominations for yourself or for others. Note that individuals must be or become WaterNow Alliance members to be eligible to receive an award. Membership is free and you or your nominee can join here.
Winners and their initiatives will be recognized during our Impact Award celebrations at Tap into Resilience, WaterNow’s Virtual Summit, taking place April 6-8, 2021.
This form is currently closed for submissions.
