Legal and Policy Distributed Infrastructure Databases

Legal and Policy Distributed Infrastructure Databases

Interactive Law and Policy Databases

WaterNow has compiled three databases that allow you to find state and local laws and policies relevant to developing local distributed infrastructure projects and programs.

  • Waterwise Landscape Case Study Database provides community examples on the benefits of converting turf to waterwise landscapes, best practices for engaging customers in turf conversion programs, and model communications materials. The database is filterable so that you can access materials of most interest.
  • State Gift Laws Database allows you search for your state’s governing laws on the use of public funds on private property. All states prohibit “gifts” of public funds to private individuals or groups, but these rules generally don’t apply when the funds are used for projects that benefit the public.
  • State Public Finance Database allows you to identify your state’s bond laws and explore  whether they are likely flexible enough to allow bond financing for distributed infrastructure on private property.
