The Oklahoma Water Resources Board awarded Altus an $11 million Clean Water SRF loan to improve the City’s wastewater treatment plant. including $5 million dedicated to replace 10,000 outdated water meters with Advanced Metering Infrastructure. The City ran a proactive campaign to inform the general public about the upcoming changes, and introduced a new Altus Smart Hub App which went went live in April 2020. The App enables residents to monitor their water usage in near real-time intervals and view water reports, helping residents to better conserve water. Altus’ AMI investment is one example of how communities across Oklahoma are deploying innovative technologies to better manage the State’s water resources.
