Why Join this Stakeholder Call?

California faces a wide range of water supply challenges to meet water needs and prepare for climate change. Such issues require significant, increased investment and the adoption of localized solutions highlighted in WaterNow’s Tap into Resilience initiative. Governor Gavin Newsom’s April 2019 Executive Order N-10-19 directs the key state agencies – Natural Resources Agency, CalEPA and Cal Food and Ag – to jointly develop a comprehensive strategy called the Water Resilience Portfolio.

The WaterNow Stakeholder Call is intended to be an opportunity to brief you on the key questions identified by the Water Resilience Portfolio initiative and get California member feedback to inform our comments to the State. These questions include, but aren’t limited to:

  1. How can the state help communities ensure safe, affordable drinking water?
  2. What state actions would help deliver the most meaningful water use efficiency gains?
  3. What are the most troublesome gaps in state data that, if filled, would improve regional water management?

WaterNow will circulate a sign-on comment letter for California members based on this call in mid-August. If you are unavailable to join for the August 2 stakeholder call, you can set-up a 1:1 conversation with Kate Moran any time before August 7 to include your input.

Thanks in advance for your participation in this important initiative! Please reach out to Kate Moran at [email protected] if you have any questions.
