WaterNow is excited to announce that nominations for the third annual Emerging Leader Awards are now open! The Emerging Leader Award is dedicated to celebrating and advancing mid-level professionals from under-represented backgrounds in the water utility space who are poised to take on leadership positions in the coming years.

The Emerging Leader Awards are designed specifically to recognize utility staff who have demonstrated promise and creativity in advancing meaningful cultural change in the areas of sustainability, equity, and/or community engagement. Past recipients have led projects incorporating public health into watershed planning, conducting community outreach on drinking water quality and safety, or developing equity-focused neighborhood stormwater plans. By recognizing the Emerging Leaders of today, we aim to support their growth while celebrating their achievements, creating a strong foundation from which water utilities can address the sustainability challenges of tomorrow.

Emerging Leader Award winners are awarded $1,500 to support their leadership training and professional development.

Does someone at your city, town or utility deserve to be recognized for their contributions and promise in the water space? Please fill out the linked form to nominate an emerging leader! Self-nominations are encouraged as well.
