Bill Moorhead

Director Bill B. Moorhead was elected to the Board in 2018. Mr. Moorhead received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Washington and Jefferson College and a Master’s Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering from Loyola Marymount University. He is a registered Civil Engineer in the State of California and currently holds licenses in Water, Wastewater and Water Distribution Operations from the California Department of Health Services.

Mr. Moorhead has more than 4 decades of experience in the fields of water and wastewater having served as a Biologist, Treatment Supervisor, Operations Consultant, Senior Engineer and most recently Principal Water Engineer for the City of Anaheim. Among his achievements, Mr. Moorhead is past President of the Orange County Water Association (OCWA) and past Chairman of the California Water Environment Water Association’s (CWEA) Technical Certification Program. Mr. Moorhead was honored as “Operator of the Year” and recipient of the “Engineering Achievement Award” by the CWEA, and recipient of the Engineering Best Projects of 2013 Award by the Engineering News Record for Anaheim’s Recycled Water Demonstration Facility. Mr. Moorhead was a member of the MNWD’s Citizen’s Advisory Committee (CAC) until his election. He also served 4 years as Vice President of Mission Viejo High School’s Model United Nations (MUN) boosters. Mr. Moorhead has raised one daughter, and he and his wife Beverly reside in Mission Viejo where he has lived for 25 years.
