Doug Engfer

An entrepreneur from a long line of entrepreneurs, I have more than 25 years of executive leadership experience, focused on building productive organizations that expand their customers' top-line revenue. Most recently, I co-founded invivodata (sold in 2012; now part of ERT), serving as President, CEO, and Board Chair. invivodata permanently changed pharmaceutical clinical research by pioneering and popularizing the direct collection of valid, reliable patient self-report data. Before that, I founded The Windward Group (sold in 1998; now part of Microsoft), a Silicon Valley software development services firm. Notable Windward successes include the Palm® connected organizer, FedEx® Ship™ desktop shipping software and Apple's QuickTime® multimedia software. Prior to my service with Windward, I worked in positions of increasing responsibility at CWA, Wyse Technology, GRiD Systems and Control Data Corporation.

I received Ars Baccalaureate degrees in U.S. History and Classical Latin from U.C. Davis, summa cum laude, 1980.

I split my time between Santa Cruz CA and Park City UT, and get outdoors as much as possible to swim, run, ski, backpack, snowshoe, or suffer (er, cycle). I serve on a number of corporate boards, am a member of the Santa Cruz (California) Water Commission, serve on the Eagle Mountain HOA ARC, and our family foundation supports the arts, education, civil liberties, and stewardship of the Earth.
