Served as Mayor from 1984-1992 and again 2008 to the present. I am a member of the National League of Cities Board of Directors and served as the former Chair of the Energy, Environment and Natural Resources committee. Prior to public office I was a public school teacher for 12 years and in between terms I served in three senior management positions, -- two with real estate development firms and a healthcare system. Married and have four children and eight grandchildren.
