Superior, CO
Reimagining Municipal Landscapes to Save Water and Support Community Resilience Our Approach Project OutcomesProject Goal
The Town of Superior, located along Colorado’s Front Range, is home to just over 13,300 residents. In the face of ongoing drought and growing concerns about long-term water availability, Superior is taking proactive steps to reduce municipal water use by transforming its landscapes and upgrading to water-efficient irrigation systems. To support these efforts, WaterNow is developing a strategic roadmap that will help Superior streamline project implementation, enhance interdepartmental coordination, and advance its water conservation and sustainability goals.
Our Approach
WaterNow Alliance is partnering with the Town of Superior to coordinate and streamline efforts to replace non-functional turf and upgrade irrigation systems on town-owned properties. Together, we are developing a comprehensive roadmap for implementing sustainable, water-efficient landscapes that align with Superior’s goals and policy requirements. This effort includes collaboratively defining non-functional turf, creating a tool to prioritize project sites, and identifying funding and financing opportunities to support smooth and successful project implementation.
